Using the www.colorado.gov website find 10 programs the state of Colorado provides for you. And relate it to how you can use it today or in your future.

Identify the similarities and differences between the Colorado State government and the United States Constitutions
Identify the level of government and talk about who and how you could get involved and make a difference.
Read the February Upfront Magazine, give a brief overview, talk about which levels of government are involved and who you would contact to make your views known. (If you missed class complete two articles and write it, thanks!)
Know what services Mesa County, The City of Grand Junction and the Town of Collbran offer and relate it to your life.
Use a chart with two columns one for each website , one for the service and one section to write how this benefits you or your parents, either now or in your future.
Know who your leaders are and which ones your vote counts, who to write to and watch in the media. When their term is up, which committees are they serving on, who funds those committees?
Make a map that we can hang up in the classroom. This map needs to show the people that directly impact us here in Plateau Valley. Which level of government they belong to and forth. There are two resources on the side to help get you started.
Research current local news and document the various policies, which government(s) are involved and how to appropriately engage with that level about that policy.
Use local news like KKCO News 11, KJCT News 8 and News 5, the Free Press, GJ Sentinel, the Plateau Valley Times.
Use any of the primary web sites that we have been studying: Colorado State, City of Gj, Mesa County, Town of Collbran and so forth.
